My last post Make Money in a Niche, was a long time ago I know as I don't get much time to write in these blogs much. But here is an article that might be of interest to anyone who is reading this blog! Its all about how to make money from writing:

Being a freelance writer, or writing content for your own websites is a necessary part of developing a readable SEO friendly home where visitors can be certain of a good read.

But it doesn't stop there. I’d like to highlight the virtues of a truly exceptional additional source of income for anyone who is interested in making money from writing. That’s a place known as Constant Content.

Constant Content are an article/content brokerage website not unlike the popular Associated Content (AC). The difference between the two is that Constant Content takes written work from writers situated worldwide, whereas AC accepts only writers that live in the United States.

The potential amount of money that can be earned from Constant Content are far in excess of you would expect to earn from Associated Content. This is chiefly due to the fact that the method of selling your articles is rather different for each company.

AC will take your article and pay you straight away for it. The amount is normally around $5-$7 per 500 word article, although that figure may increase the longer you are a member and the greater the number of articles you submit (which are accepted) to approximately $10 per article. The articles you submit then become the property of Associated Content, which they can then offer for sale to website owners as “usage” rights. This means they are able to resell each of your articles over and over meaning they are not unique.

Constant Content, alternatively are rather different. When you submit an article to Constant Content, you specify the way you desire it to be sold. It can be from a choice of either "usage", "unique" or "full rights".

This is so good to know. The majority of content buyers make use of Constant Content looking to obtain "full rights" articles. This means they become the sole owners of that article and can put their name to it as their own work, which is the main reason why it's the most taken. It is also guaranteed as original and unique content, which further adds to its appeal.

As to making money, for a 500 word, "full rights" article, the usual fee is around $40. Of this, the author receives 65% ($26), while the remainder is taken as commission and expenses by Constant Content.

Another difference to be considered is that Constant Content do not pay you, the author for your article right away as does Associated Content. What occurs is that your article remains in your own portfolio on the site and waits for a customer to choose it. That’s the main downside and one reason why so many potentially talented authors drop out. People are often impatient and don't like to be made to hang around for their article to be sold.

However, for those writers that are prepared to wait, once an article is sold, you get paid by Constant Content at the start of each month. Logic dictates that the more articles you store in your portfolio, then the more articles you will sell. Over time, your portfolio will expand and provide you with a constant flow of cash as long as you continue to keep submitting more articles in order to keep it swelling. As an author, you will begin to become known by a few of the regular content buyers and if they like your articles in your portfolio, you may very well be asked to do private work for them, which many of the regular authors there do. This can actually turn out to be very lucrative.

Wouldn't you rather make $26 for a 500 word article and maybe wait a while for it, than get a cheap $5-7 straight away.

I personally recommend Constant Content if you would like to make extra cash from your writing work and aren't bothered about being patient.

Always keep submitting good quality articles. While you might not sell any right away, be patient but submit more articles and before long, your first article will sell. Its a great feeling and will spur you on to submit even more. By submitting your articles constantly and often, other sales will soon follow.

To help you choose what subjects to write about, Constant Content publish a list of content requested by buyers both on the site and via email to each author. Even if they don’t buy yours, it increases your chances of selling your artucles to someone else. Its also a perfect gauge as what topics are hot amongst buyers.

Make Money in a Niche

Following on from the last post Fast Make Money, where I looked at some of the things you should be doing to set up good looking and legitimate blogs with lots of content, I'm now going to look at ways of building up a niche blog.

You see, the main problem with trying to make money online is that most people set their sights high and expect to make money fast from day one. That doesn't happen, despite what the A-listers and gurus might have you believe. You also don't need to spend any money to learn how to make money online. All of the information you need to learn how to make money online is there for nothing - you just have to find it all and then put it all together by filtering out the bullshit and going with the honest stuff.

One such way of really making money online is by steering clear of teh niche that tries telling everybody how to make money online! That niche is over-stuffed with highly competetive people all vying for the same slice of what is in actual fact a rather small pie. Sure, to get to the top spot for the term "make money online" is very lucrative, because you will get a lot of search traffic to your blog and a fair proportion of that traffic will click your ads. But to get up there will take so much hard work and so much time that its almost not worth the effort in man hours.

Much better to divert that effort into a much less competitive, yet far more profitable niche.

Even then, you'd be up against some stiff competition, especially of you were trying to rank your site for the main keyword for each niche, like for instance "health" or "weight loss". You'd be up against more competition than was worth the effort fighting with. Better to take the fight down a few notches and go for ranking with long term keywords.

These work by taking a main keyword, say "health" and adding other searched terms to it, so that you end up with say "health food for vegetarians". You'll find that there is much less competition in the search engines, although there is also much fewer daily searches on the term. So its all about finding a balance between the two. Then when you find the term that works, you can add some affiliate products to your site and attract clicks on your links from the organic search traffic you'll attract. This kind of marketing is known as niche affiliate marketing, or long tail keyword marketing, or even bum marketing.

You need a serach term that is searched enough on the search engines to make it worth your while taking on, but also that there is not so much competition that you wouldn't stand a chance of getting on page one, at least not for a very long time.

The best way of finding good long tail keywords is by using one of the better known keyword research tools like Keyword Elite, or Wordtracker. They both have their merits, although Keyword Elite is an outright purchase of software and Wordtracker is a monthly subscription service. You have to decide which is best for your needs.

How to Make Money Fast

Following straight on from our initial welcome post Fast Make Money Ways, here we'll take a quick look at one of the more useful fast make money ways that are available to the newcomer to Internet Marketing.

First you need to start with a base for those fast make money ways to begin from and the easiest and cheapest ways to do that is to set up a free blog. Hey, just like this cute make money blog right here, in fact! With Blogger, setting up a blog is child's play, although its function and purpose is anything but for children - at least not those who haven't already figured the way to riches before you've even left school is NOT with some crappy paper round but online with a fast make money ways blog!

Once you've set up your blogger account and created your first blog, there are some DOs and DON'Ts that you really need to observe if you want to make it work.

First the DON'Ts

Don't publish your first post and coincide that milestone with filling the blog full of adsense, affiliate links and banners. Hold your horses! That might seem the fast make money ways to go, but it is actually counter-productive in that Google will take one look at your fresh out-of-the-box blog and send it straight to the sandbox.

What, you don't care?

You should care. Google will be your best friend by sending you lots of organic, highly targeted traffic to your fast make money blog, but only after it has satisfied itself that you are not a spam merchant hellbent on putting up blogs just to get clicks on your ads.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. By that I mean don't create a brace of fast make money ways blogs - because the fast make money ways niche is saturated with the toughest most difficult to compete against Internet Marketers you'll ever meet and they are not about to let some new upstart with a free blog muscle in on their territory. Such as it is.

Better to have just one or two in that niche, just for the hell of it and then concentrate on where the money REALLY is and that is in just about any other niche - apart from maybe the loans and finance niches - again centred around money.

What, you mean there is no money in the fast make money niche? So why in the hell is it called make money?

Well, what happens is that most of your search traffic in the fast make money niche are going to be other Internet Marketers, who by definition are very clued up people when it comes to the art of how to make money. These people know what your affiliate links and banner ads and adsense all do and they don't bother clicking on any of them.

Which means you might do really well and attract a thousand Internet Marketers to your site every day, but because none of the stingy bastards will ever click on one of your ads, you won't make a red cant from any of them.

In fact do too well and all it will do is end up costing you more in the long run, because you undoubtedly progress onto self hosted sites, which will just cost you more in bandwidth for all your stingy visitors!
